Atilis Gym co-owner, Ian Smith took to social media with a video saying that he and his business partner would not be shutting down their gym in Bellmawr, New Jersey.
In the video, Smith can be seen in his gym going through flashcards with a special message toward Governor Phil Murphy.
Some of the flashcards say, “[w]e have over $1 Million in fines, we have had our business license stripped, we have had our doors locked and barricaded.”
Smith continues to peel away the cards and says that they will not shut down their business. One card says, “[f]ree men don’t ask for permission or for forgiveness.”
The gym owners have implemented some of their own COVID-19 regulations and they have worked amazingly. They have had 83,000+ customers go through and not a single case of COVID-19 has been linked back to Atilis.
One of their regulations is that they give their customers the option to wear a mask.
It surely makes you wonder if the shutdowns are doing any good at all. Fun fact, they’re not.
Smith also said in an interview with America’s Newsroom, “[w]hat’s happening to the middle class and small businesses in America is nothing short of a complete tragedy…You are putting people out of business for good. You are making them reliant on big government. You are taking away their civil liberties under the guise of pretending like you care about public health.”
The government needs to step back and let businesses open up on their own volition.
