Video of the encounter between the couple and an employee at the Smoothie King was shared in a post on X by Leftism, Libs of TikTok, and other prominent right-leaning political accounts. The circulated clips have garnered more than million views after being posted early Monday morning.

“She refused to serve customers at @SmoothieKing because the husband wore a Trump hoodie,” Leftism said in the post on Monday. “She has now made a GoFundMe in which she boasts about refusing to serve Trump supporters, and claims that she was filmed without permission, is a minor, and now has a lot of hate comments.”

Williams started a GoFundMe page but it was disabled shortly after. As of Noon on Monday, it had raised 10 percent of its $700 goal.

“Refused service to Trump supporters, who recorded me as a minor without permission, after they posted the video it got hundreds of hate comments and threats making the job no longer safe to return to,” the triggered staffer wrote.

Smoothie King on Monday issued a statement saying, “Smoothie King has zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind, including political affiliation. We were deeply concerned to learn of an incident involving a guest who was refused service at a franchised location in Michigan yesterday, Sunday, late afternoon. That is not the experience we want for anyone who walks through our doors.”

The statement added: “The local franchise owner is conducting a thorough and immediate investigation to ensure we fully understand the event and determine appropriate actions.”

“Go broke the Bud Light way,” one social media user wrote to Smoothie King.

Anna Hoffman, a conservative commentator on X, wrote, “Smoothie King incident is not about race; let’s not go there. It’s political/viewpoint discrimination.”

“This is textbook Democrat/Liberal mentality on full display. They believe they can force you to support their party… and if you don’t, they’ll attack you, refuse service, and publicly ridicule you for it,” another social media user wrote. “Well, I guess my 4 times a week trips there have officially come to an end because I’ll never go back.”
