Big trouble for Belmont University.
The Christian university canceled an upcoming event featuring Promise Keepers, the well-known men’s ministry.

Promise Keepers say they were told that their values conflicted with the university’s.
Promise Keepers believes that God made men to be men and women to be women. They also believe in the traditional definition of marriage.
They had plans to host an event at the university.
So far Belmont has yet to explain why they rescinded the agreement.
The ministry released a statement for Pride Month that noted what it perceives to be the dangers of gender ideology and reaffirmed its long-held position that biblical marriage constitutes a union between one man and one woman.
Belmont was once affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention but parted ways in 2007. The university later shed its description as a Christian university, instead branding itself as a “Christ-centered school.”
These days Belmont hires non-Christian faculty, affirms the LGBT community and they have a Muslim Student Association.
In other words, there’s nothing Christian about Belmont University.
