It’s no surprise that Harvard University’s handling of President Claudine Gay has been framed as an act of racism.
Dr. Gay faced numerous plagiarism accusations – not to mention her offensive handling of antisemitism on campus.
Dr. Gay will still earn nearly $900,000 even though she has resigned her post. The first black woman to become president – she now holds the distinction of having the shortest tenure.
The Harvard Governing Board says Gay was a victim of racist vitriol.
Al Sharpton, who claims to be a reverend, said her resignation is “an assault on the health, strength and future of diversity, equity and inclusion.”
“President Gay’s resignation is about more than a person or a single incident,” Sharpton said in a statement. “This is an attack on every Black woman in this country who’s put a crack in the glass ceiling … Most of all, this was the result of Bill Ackman’s relentless campaign against President Gay, not because of her leadership or credentials but because he felt she was a DEI hire.”
Sharpton told Politico he is planning to protest outside of Bill Ackman’s New York office on Thursday.
Ackman is the billionaire hedge fund manager and Harvard alum who has been leading the protest against Gay.
“If he doesn’t think Black Americans belong in the C-Suite, the Ivy League, or any other hallowed halls, we’ll make ourselves at home outside his office,” Sharpton said.
The Associated Press blamed her departure on conservatives who weaponized plagiarism – a tone deaf argument seeing how AP has a policy banning plagiarism.
Marc Lamont Hill – the antisemitic university professor – said Harvard must hire a black woman to replace President Gay.
In America’s woke academic world, gender and skin color matter more than academic qualifications or merit.
