Despite being acquitted of all charges, leftist students at Arizona State University are calling for Kyle Rittenhouse to be kicked out of his studies.
According to 12News, Rittenhouse revealed during the trial he had begun taking classes at the Tempe-based university. But a university spokesperson told the outlet Rittenhouse is “no longer enrolled” there.
But Students for Socialism at ASU is determined to make sure that he is never welcome on campus.
“People seem to think that because Rittenhouse dropped his online classes that he won’t be attending ASU,” the group wrote. “He states in his News Nation interview that he plans to re-enroll for the next semester – we won’t let him!”
A change.org petition was started by students at ASU to get him kicked out of the online program, Campus Reform reports. The petition states:
“We, the students of Arizona State University refuse to welcome a murderer onto our campus. ASU should be a safe and inclusive place for all students, which will be disrupted if Kyle Rittenhouse is allowed to attend this school.”
Students for Socialism at ASU hosted a protest to demand that Rittenhouse be withdrawn from ASU. One flier stated “Killer Off Our Campus.” They also had a list of demands, some of which were:
- Withdraw Kyle Rittenhouse from ASU
- Release a statement against white supremacy and racist murderer Kyle Rittenhouse
- Reaffirm support for the multicultural center on campus as a safe space from white supremecy
- Redirect funding from ASU PD to Support the Multicultural Center and Establishment of a CAARE Center on Campus
The demand letter also states: “Even with a not-guilty verdict from a flawed ‘justice’ system – Kyle Rittenhouse is still guilty to his victims and the families of those victims. Join us to demand from ASU that those demands be met to protect students from a violent blood-thirsty murderer.”
