NAACP Demands School Apologize For Playing Jason Aldean’s ‘Try that in a Small Town’

A Tennessee high school football team has triggered the perpetually-offended NAACP by using Jason Aldean’s hit song, “Try that in a small town.”

The Columbia Central High School football team used the song as background music during a pre-game video celebrating past members of the team.

On a side note, Aldean actually filmed the music video of “Try that in a Small Town” in downtown Columbia.

But the song has caused great angst among woke Americans who falsely claim it’s some sort of anthem for white supremacy.

“This song has already been banned on several media outlets and social platforms across the nation,” Maury County NAACP President Terry Hannah wrote in a letter to the school district. “We want to go on record that as an organization we have received numerous complaints and calls voicing major concerns.

He told the Daily Herald that the NAACP is an organization that “supports all people and inclusiveness.” Now, that’s a bit of a stretch seeing how the NAACP literally stands for the “advancement of colored people.”

“We are troubled and very concerned that the special programming at the pre-game included former players from multiple classes of football players in the history of the school were present and this song choice was very insensitive and a divisive display that they and their families were exposed to. The disturbed looks on many attendees’ faces visually expressed their disgust. Over the past couple of days, complaints and negative comments turned into a full week of disbelief,” Hannah added.

The notion that Aldean’s song is offensive or racist is simply ludicrous. Here are the lyrics to the song:

Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk
Carjack an old lady at a red light
Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store
Ya think it’s cool, well, act a fool if ya like

Cuss out a cop, spit in his face
Stomp on the flag and light it up
Yeah, ya think you’re tough

Well, try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
Around here, we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won’t take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don’t
Try that in a small town

Got a gun that my granddad gave me
They say one day they’re gonna round up
Well, that shit might fly in the city, good luck

Try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
Around here, we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won’t take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don’t
Try that in a small town

Full of good ol’ boys, raised up right
If you’re looking for a fight
Try that in a small town
Try that in a small town

Try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
Around here, we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won’t take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don’t
Try that in a small town

Try that in a small town
Ooh-ooh
Try that in a small town

Jason Aldean

Could someone from the NAACP explain what’s so controversial about looking after your neighbors and loving your country and running criminals out of town?
