Imagine for a moment if a school created a club for whites only. The national media would generate wall-to-wall coverage. Civil rights groups would file lawsuits and organize marches. There would be righteous outrage from coast to coast.
But what if a school created a blacks-only club?
That’s what happened at Mount Nittany Middle School in Pennsylvania. The school started a “Black Affinity Club.
The club was organized by the district’s equity, inclusion and belonging liaison.
Libs of Tik Tok received emails from school officials confirming the existence of the club – and also evidence that white students were banned from participating.
A school leader said the club was meant to be a safe space for the black student population at the middle school.
In fact, it’s a segregated space and Mount Nittany Middle School is at the very least discriminating against white students.
And it’s not the only school district offering classes or clubs that intentionally exclude white kids.
The Illinois Math and Science Academy was accused of hosting an exclusive retreat “designed to give “Black and Latinx students an opportunity to celebrate and enhance their strengths, creativity, intelligence, promote networking, community involvement, financial literacy, resources and academic success.”
Life was much simpler when schools just had an audio-visual club.
