Loudoun County parents are calling for the disgraced school board to resign or be fired after covering up a rape to push a transgender bathroom policy.
They carried signs with Superintendent Scott Ziegler’s email exposed last week, in which he alerted the board of the sexual assault in May, before he publicly declared there was no record of restroom assaults, Fox New reports.
After a county juvenile court judge found the high school teen guilty of sexually assaulting the girl, students walked out Tuesday shouting “Loudoun County protects rapists.”
Despite this, Wayde B. Byard, Public Information Officer at Loudoun County Public Schools, said in a statement to the Todd Starnes Radio Show the walkout was “parent-led” and “very few students actually walked out.”
Byard also said in comments that no school board members nor the superintendent plan on resigning.
“You have buried a sexual assault to protect your precious 8040 policy,” Carrie Michon, a grandmother of Loudoun County children, said Tuesday. “Every last one of you, resign!”
“You are so concerned with pushing race and gender that you sacrificed our children,” Patti Hidalgo Menders, president of the Loudoun County GOP Women’s Club, alleged. “A girl was sexually assaulted in May, and you all knew about it. The predator was put back in schools to sexually assault another girl. You all should be fired.”
