Hello Americans, I’m Todd Starnes. Stand by for news and commentary next.
A while back I told you about a revival service held at Auburn University. Hundreds of students converted to Christianity. Head football Coach Hugh Freeze was on hand to assist with baptizing the kids in a campus lake.
It was a beautiful moment marred by a bunch of out of town atheists. The Freedom from Religion Foundation is now threatening to sue Auburn. They say it’s against the law for coaches to baptize students.
The atheists also targeted the president of Snead State Community College in Alabama. The president would say grace over meals and shared a guiding Bible verse for the school semester.
They accused President Joe Whitmore of “imposing his personal religious beliefs on Snead State employees and treating Snead State as a Christian college — rather than the secular public college it is.”
They demanded an end to the “unnecessary, divisive and unconstitutional” prayers and Bible verses.
But the Wisconsin atheists picked the wrong state to bully. Nobody messes with Jesus in the state of Alabama.
Governor Kay Ivey, a Jesus-loving Republican, fired off a response to the Freedom From Religion Foundation.
The governor said that Alabamians will not be intimidated by out-of-state interest groups dedicated to destroying our nation’s religious heritage.
“I am proud to stand in support of religious liberty at Snead State Community College and Auburn University,” she wrote on Twitter. “As governor, I can assure you Alabama will never be intimidated by out-of-state interest groups dedicated to destroying our nation’s religious heritage.”
Well, praise the Lord and pass the popcorn.
Good for you, Gov. Ivey. And I believe I can say that the nation stands along the freedom-loving students and faculty at Auburn University. War Eagle, America!
A revival is happening tonight in Auburn. People are getting baptized at Red Barn with hundreds of people cheering them on. The baptisms started following an event at Neville arena tonight called Unite. @TheAUPlainsman @AUFAMILY pic.twitter.com/PzEza1UWKz— Kristen Carr (@kristencarrau) September 13, 2023
