Marissa Darlingh is a grade school counselor in Milwaukee.
The other day she spoke at a public rally against sex-change surgeries and transgenderism.
She said that she would never allow students to be exposed to gender identity ideology. And she used profanity to make her point.
Instead of saluting Ms. Darlingh – the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction launched an investigation.
She’s been accused of immoral conduct by publicly voicing her opposition to the transgender movement.
And if she’s found guilty – the state could revoke her license as an educator.
“According to a report and video submitted by a community member, you participated in an event in Madison on April 23, 2022, in which you identify yourself as an elementary school counselor,” read a letter to the counselor obtained by Daily Wire. “You are on video saying ‘f*** transgenderism.’ You state you do not believe children should have access to hormones or surgery.”
The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty says they will sue the state if she is suspended or her license is revoked.
“The state is, quite simply, trying to punish a public-school counselor for her views on gender ideology,” WILL’s Luke Berg told Daily Wire. “This is a classic, clear-cut, violation of the First Amendment and the state can expect a federal lawsuit if it proceeds.”
They say Ms. Darlingh has a constitutional right to say whatever she wants in a public gathering — regardless of her status as a teacher.
