A New York school district is facing a human rights investigation after they ordered a teacher to remove LGBT propaganda she had posted in her classroom because students felt uncomfortable.
Sarah Ecke, a math teacher at Connetquot High School on Long Island, refused to take down a giant Rainbow flag and a so-called “Progress Pride flag” that had been posted in her taxpayer-funded classroom.
Ecke is the advisor of the school’s Gay-Straight Alliance and she had turned her math class into an LGBT indoctrination center.

“Students in a classroom reported feeling uncomfortable about a flag that was being displayed in that particular classroom, on the wall directly adjacent to the American flag,” Supt. Lynda Adams wrote in a statement. “This flag, which was at least twice the size of the American flag on display, was the Progress Pride flag.”
Adams offered the teacher a compromise that would have allowed to her keep at least one of the flags. The district also offered to post a sign in the classroom reading, “This is a safe space to be who you are.”
The district is aware of the mixed perspectives surrounding the display of the Progress Pride flag displayed in a classroom. Schools must remain neutral and safe learning spaces for all students and staff and while we respect individual personal beliefs, the classroom is not the appropriate setting to express these views, especially if they create a disruption to the educational environment. Any materials or conversations that violate this mission are prohibited within our schools. The district has offered alternate solutions, which were rejected by the teacher, and we continue to work to resolve this issue.
School District Statement
The activist teacher refused. As I wrote in my book, “Culture Jihad,” the LGBT activists have taken over taxpayer-funded education and they are radically grooming and indoctrinating young children. Click here to read my book.
“Unfortunately, with this continued refusal, the district must now fully implement Policy 1310 which states that school employees shall not engage in political activities on school premises,” the schools chief reportedly wrote in a letter obtained by the New York Post. “By adhering to the letter of the Policy, we can neutralize the environment, hopefully making the space feel safe and comfortable for all of our students.”
LGBT activists, Democrats and the media across New York are enraged pointing out that LGBT teachers have a right to spread their message inside every public school classroom in the state.
“If you take down the Pride flag, you’re sending the message that homophobia is going to fly here, and I would have to hide myself,” an eighth grade student told a local television station.
“This is a disgusting, blatant act of intimidation against the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, and an attempt to create an environment of hostility for LGBTQ+ students,” another wrote. “We can’t tolerate this happening anywhere in America. You can’t display a PRIDE flag showing support for people who aren’t straight? I’m sorry, that’s insane. Connetquot BOE should be ashamed.”
Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) ordered the Division of Human Rights to launch an immediate investigation.
“Governor Hochul is committed to protecting the human rights of New Yorkers, and has directed the Division of Human Rights to investigate potential violations of Human Rights Law in this matter, consistent with the agency’s mandate,” Hochul’s office told Newsday in a statement.
LGBT activists have yet to explain what any of this has to do with teaching students about mathematics. And for that matter, why isn’t the teacher posting the New York state flag? Or what about the POW-MIA flag? Or the Christian flag?
