Students in the Advanced Placement government class at Kamiak High School in Washington State were given an unusual assignment the other day. They were told to define fascism and then provide evidence that President Trump was indeed a fascist.
The instructor also told the class to rely on specific claims made by Vice President Kamala Harris and former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly. Radio station KTTH was the first to report about this bizarre assignment:
This Oct. 24 assignment, confirmed by the Kamiak High School principal to “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH, was explicitly crafted to support the narrative that Trump is a fascist — an inflammatory and politically charged claim with no room for balanced debate. Yet, despite the clear political bias, the principal doesn’t appear to see any problem with it.
A former student alerted the principal and launched an immediate investigation.
“So far as I could find, no students refused to participate in the activity. Rather, students asked the teacher if they could provide evidence that Harris and Kelly’s assessment was incorrect. The teacher approved that request; AP Government & Politics is a college-level course that develops students’ skills with identifying and justifying positions regardless of their personal beliefs,” the principal told radio host Jason Rantz.
The radio station pointed out that Harris had been accused of being a Marxist, yet there were no assignments calling for students to dig up dirt on the vice president.
Another Washington State school teacher denigrated Trump on a quiz. A French teacher at Roosevelt High in Seattle gave kids a question about the former president – and the only correct answers were either a “liar” or “crazy.”
