A Tennessee school district is under fire for hosting a Ramadan party for teachers and staff that included anti-Israel propaganda.
The staff at Houston Middle School, near Memphis, held a Muslim-centric celebration that featured a conversation on how to support Muslim students. Click here to read Todd’s new book, “Twilight’s Last Gleaming: Can America Be Saved?”
The celebration was posted on the school’s Facebook page and included a photograph of a message that had been placed on one of the tables.
That message referenced the “war on Gaza.” That’s how the school framed the war between Israel and Hamas.
“Muslim students in particular are experiencing more emotional distress due to the war on Gaza,” the Ramadan greeting read. “While we know when our next meal is, people in Gaza are dying of starvation.
“Our hearts are heavy,” the message read. “Ask your students how they are doing and how you can support them from time to time.”
The war was actually started when Hamas invaded Israel and slaughtered hundreds of innocent people. Those facts were conveniently left out of the “Ramadan Greetings.”
Teachers were also encouraged to “accommodate your fasting Muslim students” and to provide a place for them to pray.
Houston Middle School teachers and staff were also encouraged to be “flexible with assignments” and “changing the dates of classroom celebrations.”
And the Ramadan Greeting also asked teachers to refrain from “handing out candy/food in class and allowing students to take breaks.” That sounds like code for no chocolate Easter bunnies or Peeps.
What sort of special liberties are being provided for Jewish and Christian students?
This is the same school district, by the way, that tried to rename Good Friday – a nefarious scheme that was thwarted thanks to the local Moms For Liberty chapter.
