Texas Considers Removing American Revolution From Mandated History Lessons

The Texas State Board of Education is proposing changes to mandated school curriculum that would remove lessons about the American Revolution and would marginalize our Founding Fathers.

Conservatives are alleging that three Republicans joined Democrats to push through radical changes recommended by the Council on American Islamic Relations.

References to the Black Robed Regiment were also removed – the regiment a group of Protestant pastors who supported and fought for the American Revolution.

The board also struck out the definition of the American flag as a symbol of independence because one of the board members stated that not all people were free when America was established.

Julie Pickren is a member of the state board of education and she joined me on my national radio show today. Watch that interview below.

She says that the Republicans joined Democrats to remove portions of the American Revolution from mandatory history lessons. They specifically objected to the stories of Valley Forge as well as The battles of Lexington and Bunker Hill. Instead – the board wanted to provide lessons on modern-day American – and focus more on Oprah Winfrey – instead of George Washington.

Pickren tells me there is an attempt to delay the vote – if that happens – it could allow parents more time to organize and put a stop to this nonsense.

It’s nothing more than Common Core 2.0. Remember Common Core? They taught our kids that our Founding Fathers were nothing more than domestic terrorists.

“How any patriotic American can support the removal of significant Revolutionary War battles, including Lexington, Concord, and Valley Forge, from Texas public schools’ U.S. History standards, is beyond me,” Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Mandy Drogin told Texas Scoreboard.

My sources tell me that there is a concerted effort in Texas to either water down or completely revise the history of our nation. The Islamists presented some 300 pages of changes and recommendations – including one that alleged the Alamo had ties to Islam. That is in fact simply not true.

America was not founded by Muslims. America was founded by Christians. And we must not allow anyone to water down that truth.

Earlier today Florida Governor Ron DeSantis wrote on X that “Those who reject the core meaning of the American Revolution in favor of agenda-driven revisionist history are not trying to unite around a common story.”

Based on what happened earlier this week in New York City – it is clear to me that there is a concerted effort to fundamentally transform our Republic. And as Texas goes – so goes the nation.
