President Trump came up with yet another brilliant idea – he wants to take $3 billion in taxpayer money from Harvard University and redistribute that money to vocational schools – trade schools.
The president has all but declared war on the Ivy Leagues over their refusal to crack down on antisemitism and DEI policies.
The other day he posted a message on Truth Social saying that was considering taking billions away from Harvard and giving it to trade schools across the country.
Harvard is the nation’s oldest and wealthiest university. It’s also a private school – and lots of taxpayers wonder why we have to pay their electricity bills.
During the presidential campaign the president pitched something called the American Academy – strictly non-political.
“Whether you want lectures in ancient histories or an introduction to financial accounting or training in a skilled trade, the goal will be to deliver it and get it done properly, using study groups, mentors, industry partnerships and the latest breakthrough in computing,” he said. “It will be strictly nonpolitical and there will be no wokeness or jihadism allowed – none of that’s going to be allowed.”
The nation is facing a severe shortage of skilled tradesmen – from construction workers to welders and HVAC technicians. And you can blame former President Barack Obama for the shortages.
Obama used his bully platform as president to shame American children into attending a four-year college. He all but told children that they could not achieve the American dream without a college education.
Years later and many of those kids are still unemployed, living in their parents basement, saddled with tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt.
The reality is that America has more of a need for plumbers and electricians – not experts in lesbian literature and basket weaving.
