A horrifying video is circulating on social media showing a teenage girl being beaten unconscious inside a classroom as other students laugh.

The incident happened at Las Vegas High School and the video has enraged parents.

The video shows the victim seated at her desk as the attacker approaches from behind. She was beaten in the head at least 30 times as a teacher kept telling the attacker to stop. Not a single person in the classroom tried to intervene.

In the video, someone, possibly a teacher, tells the student punching to “stop, stop, stop” while extending their arms to her, but the girl does not stop. “Get off of her,” that person is heard saying.

When the attacker keeps going, laughter is heard from other students.

Television station KTNV reports the victim was taken to the hospital where she reportedly suffered a seizure.

Residents of Las Vegas were horrified by the violence.

“We are enraged that no school police came to her rescue. We are angered that the teacher has no control of her classroom,” one resident wrote on Twitter. “Start dropping the hammer on the student and even harder on their parents. Teachers also need to be able to break this up without fear of being fired or sued or anything else provided their actions are reasonable to get control of the situation.”

The Clark County School Board said would not say whether the attacker has been arrested or suspended from class.

“Violent acts, assaults, and bullying will not be tolerated in the Clark County School District, and those who choose to engage in these activities will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Superintendent Jesus F. Jara wrote in an emailed statement to the television station.
