THE SECOND HOUR OF THE TODD STARNES SHOW:

UPDATES:

1:05pm- Stand Up! President Trump took to Twitter on Monday to praise the fans who “booed” NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem, saying they “demand respect for our Flag!” “Many people booed the players who kneeled yesterday (which was a small percentage of total). These are fans who demand respect for our Flag! ,” he wrote on Twitter. Trump also reiterated comments he made Sunday night that his condemnation of the protests has nothing to do with race. “The issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race. It is about respect for our Country, Flag and National Anthem. NFL must respect this!,” he wrote. He also credited NASCAR team owners who made it clear on Sunday they would not abide racers protesting during the singing of The Star Spangled Banner.

1:10pmET Guest: Dr. Alex McFarland, Director for Christian Worldview and Apologetics at North Greenville University. His latest book is “Abandoned Faith: Why Millennials Are Walking Away and How You Can Lead Them Home.”

1:30pm- Crunch Time! Republican lawmakers in the Senate are days away from perhaps a final deadline on repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act, a seminal promise from the party for more than seven years. The Senate must pass the Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill by September 30 under the budget reconciliation process, which would allow it to pass with a simple majority. Failure to pass the legislation would complicate prospects for the GOP to roll back the landmark healthcare law known as Obamacare. But despite pressure on Republican senators, two members have already said they would vote against the bill — and several others are on the fence, leaving the future of the Graham-Cassidy bill in doubt.

THE FIRST HOUR OF THE TODD STARNES SHOW:

UPDATES:

12:05pm- Resist? More NFL players have shown solidarity against Donald Trump by locking arms, kneeling or sitting down during the national anthem. The latest teams to join the protest are the Oakland Raiders and the Washington Redskins. The Raiders is the only NFL team comprised entirely of African-American players. At this stage, more than 200 players have chosen to protest - that means about one in eight did not stand for the anthem over the weekend.

12:20pm- Question: Did you watch football this weekend? Did you boycott? Was Trump wrong? Were the players wrong? Whose side are you on, Trump or the players? 888-788-9910
