Military Mom Told to Remove American Flag

A Kansas City woman was ordered to remove an American flag that was flying from the balcony of her apartment.
“Problem: American flag on deck,” declared a letter written by the management of The Cordillera Ranch Apartments.
"I just didn't understand what their problem was with having an American flag to support our troops," resident Kerry White told Fox4.
Ms. White is the daughter of a Vietnam War veteran and the stepmother of an active-duty member of the military. She purchased the flag for the Memorial Day weekend.
"It's our country, support our country, support our troops, they go out and they fight for our country and they defend us so why wouldn't we want to fly an American flag to support them?"
On Thursday, she returned home from work to discover a letter from management. She was notified that she was in violation of her lease.
“Your lease agreement states that patios and balconies are to be kept clean and orderly and are not to be used for storage,” the letter read.
They gave her 24 hours to remove the flag or “we will dispose them.”
“How are you going to dispose of it? Are you going to throw it in the trash?” she wondered.
Fearing the management would desecrate Old Glory, Ms. White did as she was instructed and removed the flag.
Management did not return calls seeking comment.
To be clear, the owners of the apartment complex have a right to determine what renters can and cannot post from the balconies. They have a constitutional right to be unpatriotic jerks.
That being said, perhaps Ms. White ought to consider moving to an apartment complex that loves America and will allow patriotic citizens to proudly fly the red, white and blue.
