Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey told citizens that she will not issue a “shelter in place” order.
“We are not Louisiana, we are not New York state, we are not California,” Ivey said at a press conference.. “And right now is not the time to order people to shelter in place.
The governor said it is imperative that businesses are open and operating to provide materials that medical professionals might need.
I urge Alabamians to heed the warnings,” she said. “Social distancing is a must. Hand washing is essential. So folks, please do your part and social distance and be sure you are practicing good, clean hygiene.”
