BLOOD ON HIS HANDS! Rep. Mo Brooks Blames Cuomo for Nursing Home Deaths

Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., told the “Todd Starnes Radio Show” Wednesday that he is confused about why the “fake news” media continues to heap praise on Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s coronavirus response, especially due to the fact it appears his actions directly resulted in thousands of nursing home deaths.

Brooks gave a wide-ranging interview where he questioned the country’s economy-killing response to the pandemic and the subsequent Democrat power grab. But he said it was particularly “horrific” the way the media is trying to promote the New York governor.

“Not only is he responsible for the death of– who knows how many people when he forced the nursing homes to take patients who had coronavirus, thereby contaminating the entire nursing home environment– but he also has the worst track record of any governor of any state.”

Brooks pointed out that New York has been the hardest-hit state in the nation and blamed the rising Democrat star for recent hospital closures and the lack of Personal Protective Equipment.

Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican assemblywoman in the state, told Fox News that she wants a federal investigation into the governor’s nursing home order following the deaths of thousands in the state.

“On March 24, Gov. Cuomo said, ‘My mother is not expendable, your mother is not expendable’ and yet the very next day he signed an executive order mandating nursing homes – where our most vulnerable mothers and our most vulnerable fathers reside – to accept COVID positive patients,” she said.

He was criticized over a March 25 directive from the New York Department of health that barred nursing homes from turning away coronavirus patients from admission into these homes, the New York Post reported.

Cuomo said Wednesday that he and his staff did “everything they could” to protect the vulnerable population, the Post reported.

“As a society, you can’t save everyone, you’re gonna lose people, that’s life,” he said. “But we did everything we could.”

Brooks said Democrats, in general, have the attitude to never let a crisis go to waste and “what better way to have a crisis than to create one?”

“That is exactly what they’re doing right now with their economic policies at the city and state level, where they are intentionally killing their own economy, and, of course, at the federal government level where they are trying to impose socialist-agenda policies that have simply never worked in any nation that has ever tried them.”
