HEARTBREAKING: Young Father Who Died of the Virus Leaves Behind Touching Letter to Family

A Connecticut woman who recently lost her 32-year-old husband to the coronavirus said he left behind a heartbreaking message for her and his two young children.

Jonathan Coelho, who was otherwise healthy, took extra precautions to avoid the virus. Katie Coelho, his wife, told Buzzfeed News that one of their two children was born with severe neurological problems and they wanted to make sue he did not get infected.

Jonathan, who worked at a nearby courthouse, knew of his 2-year-old son’s risks, so he would wear gloves and scrub his hands to protect himself and his family. But he found out last month that he was in contact with someone who was infected, according to Buzzfeed.

He didn’t show symptoms at first, but then had a severe coughing fit that eventually lead to his hospitalization. The report said that he was hospitalized on a ventilator for 20 days and eventually went into cardiac arrest.

His wife told the website that she recovered a note in his phone that he must have written before he was intubated.

“I love you guys with all my heart and you’ve given me the best life I could have ever asked for. I am so lucky it makes me so proud to be your husband and the father to Braedyn and Penny. Katie you are the most beautiful caring nurturing person I’ve ever met … you are truly one of a kind … make sure you live life with happiness and that same passion that made me fall in love with you. Seeing you be the best mom to the kids is the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced,” he wrote.

He told his wife to tell his son that “he’s my best bud and I’m proud to be his father.” He also told her to tell his 10-month-old daughter that “she’s a princess and can have whatever she wants in life. I’m so lucky.”

His note included a message to his wife that she should keep her heart open for new love.

“Don’t hold back and if you meet someone know that if they love you and the kids that I love that for you. Always be happy no matter what!”

Their friends set up a GoFundMe page.
