“I’m Opening My Doors Come Hell or High Water!” NYC Clothier Defies Cuomo

The owner of a high-end clothing store in New York City’s Upper East Side has vowed to defy New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s order to shut down non-essential businesses.

Elliot Rabin, the owner of ‘Peter Elliot,‘ told the New York Post that he has re-opened his men’s store in defiance of the governor.

“I’m opening my doors come hell or high water,” he told the newspaper. “Why is a liquor store essential and I’m not?”

Mr. Rabin re-opened the store on Wednesday saying it was the only way he could save the business and the livelihoods of hs 21 employees.

“I’m fighting for the soul of my company and my people,” he told the newspaper. “I’m doing what I think is right to protect my business and employees from this disaster.”

He said he was not that concerned about being targeted by the governor.

“If I do get in trouble, it will be for the right reasons,” he said. “What are they going to do? Yell and scream at me? Fine me $500? It would be worth it, for me to be able to open my mouth and say this is not equitable. If they try to arrest me, I’ll say, ‘Am I in a police state now?’ They’re not going to arrest me.”

Mr. Rabin is a 78-year-old Army veteran — and a great American patriot!
