Once deemed essential, Los Angeles teachers are apparently expendable.
The Los Angeles Unified School District, the second-largest school district in the country, fired nearly 500 employees on Dec. 7 for defying the school’s vaccine requirement.
School workers had until Nov. 15 to receive their first vaccine dose, an order the school board unanimously voted in favor of. 496 employees failed to report their vaccine status to the school district, the Daily Caller reported.
Interim Superintendent Megan Reilly said firing hundred of unvaccinated school workers was “extremely difficult, but necessary.”
