Mom Says School Pressured Son to Get COVID Jab Without Parental Consent

A California mother told the local news her 13-year-old son was pressured into getting the vaccine, telling him “don’t say anything,” and bribing him with pizza.

The incident reportedly took place at the Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy in Los Angeles.

“I should’ve been involved,” Maribel Duarte told the local NBC affiliate, adding that she didn’t want her son to be vaccinated because of underlying health conditions.

She said it hurt to know “he got a shot without my permission, without me even knowing or signing any papers for him to get the shot.”

LAUSD said student matters are confidential, but did say it was part of a program that is trying to get students, ages 12 and up, vaccinated with prizes.

Students are being forced to get vaccinated by Jan. 10 or virtual-only learning.
