Actress Alyssa Milano was arrested at the White House during a voting rights protest.
“I was just arrested for demanding the Biden Administration and the Senate use their mandate to protect voting rights,” Milano tweeted Tuesday afternoon.
“Stand with me and @peoplefor and tell the Senate and White House that voting rights shouldn’t depend on where you live. #DontMuteOurVote”
At least 23 other participants were also arrested, according to the People for the American Way, the progressive group that organized the demonstration.
The bill would establish a 15-day minimum early voting period, declare Election Day a federal holiday, and make other cards and documents valid for proof of I.D. for in-person voting, The Hill reports.
