At least eleven people were stabbed by a guy wielding a knife on a BMX bike. The attacks happened during a wild crime spree Sunday afternoon in downtown Albuquerque. Police say the suspect was arrested.
“They appear to be random, someone was involved with an accident here on Central, a person just came up and said they were stabbed. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason at this point,” police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said during a press conference Sunday evening.
There were at least seven crime scenes scattered across the downtown corridor. Some of the victims are in serious condition.
“He was talking crazy, he was angry about something,” one eyewitness told the Albuquerque Journal. “As soon as he dropped the bike he pulled his blade out.”
Officers are investigating several stabbing incidents in SE ABQ in the area of Central and Wyoming. One suspect is in custody.
