BREAKING NEWS: There has been a mass shooting at a FedEx facility near the Indianapolis International Airport.
Authorities say multiple people have been shot and there is a massive police presence at the scene.
“I saw a man with a submachine gun of some sort, an automatic rifle, and he was firing in the open,” one survivor told television station WISH.
The crime scene has been declared a “mass casualty, Level 1.”
IMPD officers said they found “multiple victims at this time” and said they were investigating a “mass casualty shooting.”
There is no word on fatalities or injuries. However, police say the gunman took his own life.
Ian Johnston told reporters that his wife works at the facility.
“She texted me to tell me there was an active shooter,” he said. “She’s okay.”
Television station WRTV reports that a call went out for all available chaplains.
