Longtime Trump ally Steve Bannon has been taken into federal custody on contempt of Congress charges. Bannon defied a subpoena from a House committee investigating January’s insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Bannon, an American patriot, made a statement before surrendering to the FBI.
“We’re taking down the Biden regime,” he declared. “Stay focused, on message.”
Bannon is facing two charges of criminal contempt of Congress, one for failing to appear for an Oct. 14 deposition before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and another for refusal to provide documents to the panel, The Hill reported.
Bannon faces a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of one year in jail, as well as a fine of $100 to $1,000 if convicted.
Former IRS chief Lois Lerner was held in contempt of Congress, but she was never indicted. Former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress and neither was he.
So why was Steve Bannon indicted?
There’s no doubt in my mind that his arrest is nothing more than payback by rogue agents within the FBI. There’s a price to pay for exposing the corruption that was allowed to fester within the Deep State.
President Obama was quite effective in weaponizing federal agencies to target and punish his political enemies. And now Joe Biden is picking up where his boss left off.
Steve Bannon is now a political prisoner of the Biden Administration
