BREAKING from CBS News: MAINE LAW ENFORCEMENT BULLETIN: Maine State Police is attempting to locate Robert Card as a person of interest regarding a mass shooting incident at Schemeagees Bar and Grille Restaurant and the Sparetime Recreation in Lewiston. Card is a trained firearms instructor believed to be in the Army reserve stationed out of Saco, ME According to law enforcement, Card recently reported mental health issues including hearing voices and threats to shoot up the National Guard base in Saco. He was also reported to have been comitted to a mental health facility for 2 weeks in the summer of 2023. Last known to be operating a White Subaru Outback with a black bumper with ME plates.

Lewiston City Councilman Lewis McCarthy confirms to CNN 22 people have been killed. The National Guard facility is being used as a triage center.

Gov. Janet Mills has issued a statement:
“I urge all people in the area to follow the direction of State and local enforcement,” Mills said. “I will to continue to monitor the situation and remain in close contact with public safety officials.”

Central Maine Medical Center is no longer able to take patients.
There were shootings at three locations including a bar and grille, and a bowling alley event center.

FBI is now assisting in Maine mass shooting.

Central Maine Medical Center released a statement:
Central Maine Medical Center is reacting to a mass casualty, mass shooter event. At this time there are no specifics to share on the number of casualties.
Central Maine Healthcare is coordinating with area hospitals to take in patients.

DEVELOPING STORY: The Maine State Police issued an “extreme emergency alert” after a gunmen went on a wild shooting spree Wednesday night. Authorities have declared a mass casualty incident in Lewiston. There are unconfirmed reports of dozens of people being shot.
“There is an active shooter in Lewiston. We ask people to shelter in place,” the police warned. “Please stay inside your home with the doors locked. Law enforcement is currently investigating at multiple locations.”
Multiple people were shot in at least three separate locations. Lewiston is the state’s second largest city with a population of more than 36,000 residents.
A text sent out by Lewiston Public Schools asks anyone near or at the school for conferences to get in a safe place.
“All, please get to a safe place if you are at or near a school for conferences we are going into lockdowns,” Lewiston Public Schools Superintendent Jake Langlais said. “I will provide more information as soon as it is available and appropriate. Right now, we need to let law enforcement do what they need to do.”
Several area towns were called for mutual aid from as far away as New Hampshire, according to reports on social media.
