DEVELOPING STORY: At least 16 people were injured and one person was killed after a car crashed into an Apple store in Hingham, Mass. — near Boston.
Eyewitnesses say the SUV smashed into the building at full speed.
“It sounded like a bomb went off,” one witness said. “We saw several people who should have sought medical attention, but they wouldn’t go over because they knew other people were critical.'”
The Kingston Fire Department told television station WBZ that crews were responding to Hingham where a vehicle went into a commercial building leaving “multiple people trapped.”
The Boston Herald reports it is a mass casualty event.
Video of the scene shows a large hole in the glass of the storefront. At least two people could be seen on stretchers.
