The former secretary of state told CNN that Americans who support former President Trump should be sent to re-education camps. And she was not joking. Click here to watch the video.
“At some point, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members,” Clinton said. “And sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists, take their marching orders from Donald Trump, who has no credibility left by any measure. He’s only in it for himself.”
Her suggestion came one day after Newsweek published a report alleging the FBI was targeting Trump supporters.
“There wasn’t this little tail of extremism wagging the dog of the Republican Party as it is today, and sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists, take their marching orders from Donald Trump, who has no credibility left by any measure. He’s only in it for himself. He’s now defending himself in civil actions and criminal actions, and when do they break with him?”
The former president’s team condemned Clinton’s remarks.
“President Trump has said countless times that they are only coming after him, because he stands in their way from coming after you — and Hillary Clinton just confirmed that to be true. Tens of millions of Americans will reject the Democrat Party’s re-education camp agenda in November 2024 when we make Donald Trump the 47th President of the United States,” said Karoline Leavitt, the spokeswoman for Make America Great Again Inc.
Donald Trump, Jr. also blasted Secretary Clinton’s Soviet-style mandate.
“This woman is truly sick,” the former president’s son said. “The problem is what she’s saying is in line with the vast majority of Democrat party leaders today. When we call them, Marxists everyone must understand that that is not hyperbole and hasn’t been for quite some time.”
It’s not the first time Democrats have called for the “irredeemable deplorables” to be punished for their “political crimes.”
In 2020 James O’Keefe recorded a Bernie Sanders campaign staffer calling for Trump supporters to be sent to literal gulags.
“There’s a reason Joseph Stalin had gulags, right?” Kyle Jurek said. “Actually, gulags were a lot better than what the CIA has told us that they were. Like, people were actually paid a living wage in gulags, they had conjugal visits in gulags, gulags were actually meant for like re-education.”
“Greatest way to breaking a f**king billionaire of their like privilege and the idea that they’re superior, go out and break rocks for 12 hours a day. You’re now a working-class person and you’re going to f**king learn what that means, right?”
This sort of rhetoric is not just un-American, it’s dangerous. The notion that a person has to be re-programmed because they oppose leftwing politics.
It seems Hillary shares the same political philosophy as Joseph Stalin – send your political enemies to the gulag.
