Cocaine Found in White House, Prompted Security Alert

DEVELOPING STORY: A white powder that is believed to be cocaine was found in the West Wing of the White House on Sunday – sparking a major security alert.

The substance is now in a lab for further analysis, a source told Newsmax White House correspondent Jason Rosen.

Did the cocaine found in the White House belong to Hunter Biden?

Reports indicate the cocaine was discovered inside a working area of the White House not accessible to average citizens. And there is lots of speculation as to whose cocaine was found.

“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this one out,” said national radio host Todd Starnes. “At first glance, I’d say it was Hunter Biden’s. However, he’s not much into book reading so my guess is that it probably belonged to a White House staffer.”

Ari Fleischer, the former press secretary for President George W. Bush, called on reporters to do their job.

“You have got to be kidding me. Cocaine was found at the WH and authorities aren’t saying exactly where it was found. If it’s the Old Executive Office Building, it’s likely staff. If it’s the mansion, it’s likely Hunter,” he wrote on Twitter.

The cocaine prompted a massive hazmat response that led to a significant area surrounding 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to be shut down.

“On Sunday evening, the White House complex went into a precautionary closure as officers from the Secret Service Uniformed Division investigated an unknown item found inside a work area,” the U.S. Secret Service said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“The DC Fire Department was called to evaluate and quickly determined the item to be non-hazardous. The item was sent for further evaluation and an investigation into the cause and manner of how it entered the White House is pending,” the statement added.

When reached for an official comment about the substance being cocaine, the USSS declined to elaborate.

“The Secret Service does not comment on an on-going investigation,” an email to Newsmax read.

Starnes said the discovery of illegal drugs in the White House should not be all that surprising.

“During Pride month they allowed transgender activists to cavort topless on the White House lawn in the presence of children. And now it turns out there’s rampant drug use going on,” Starnes said. “I just hope the hazmat teams fumigate and sanitize the building before President Trump returns to office.”
