A female police officer was brutally attacked by a large man in an provoked attack in the Chinatown section of San Francisco.
The suspect wrestled the officer to the ground and smacked her face multiple times, according to surveillance video of the attack.
Suddenly, four bystanders rushed to the officer’s side and tried to stop the giant thug. Watch below.
Michael Waldorf said he saw the Asian female officer pull up to the scene, walk over to the suspect and tell him to turn around.
“He turned around put his hands behind his head,” Waldorf said, but then, “I saw him grab her, pull her to the ground.”
“He had a death grip on her,” Waldorf told ABC News. “He was holding on very tightly to her, squeezing her, squeezing her head and pulling her hair.”
The men should be commended, but in a situation like this, the best course of action is to find a baseball bat or a blunt instrument and do whatever is necessary to protect the officer.
The suspect was arrested, and the officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
