A Delaware state senator was charged with punching a woman at a Wilmington restaurant over the weekend, according to law enforcement.

Democratic State Senator Darius J. Brown, 39, allegedly punched a 44-year-old female Saturday night at an Italian restaurant after arguing about a social media post.

After punching the woman’s face, Brown got up from the table and threw a water of glass which shattered, the Delaware State Police reported.

Brown was charged with “Offensive Touching and Disorderly Conduct,” both misdemeanors and turned himself in Tuesday.

The Democrat politician was released with a “no contact order with the victim.”
