Police say they found Kerry Sheron suffering from significant injuries outside of his home. A bystander saw the beating and intervened. That individual was also injured.

Sheron’s wife, Marcia Garcia, told reporters that her husband was working on his truck when he was attacked. She said he is not expected to survive his injuries.

Police say 32-year-old Thomas Caleb Butler has been booked at the Vista Detention Center for attempted murder. Police have not identified a motive, but Garcia says she believes the attack was unprovoked and a result of their political views.

“Yes, it’s political stuff, I support Trump,” Sheron’s wife told Fox News in San Diego. She said they had been threatened many times over the past several years because of their support for President Trump.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) announced on X that he was “calling for a full and immediate investigation.

“Details still developing, but the truth is that supporters of (President Trump) are routinely the victims of leftist violence all across the country,” the congressman said.
