“It pisses me off,” Savannah Mayor Van Johnson told television station WJCL. “Let me assure our residents and visitors: we will find those responsible, and we will hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
Firefighters responded to the mall and the International Association of Firefighters, a labor union for firefighters in Savannah, confirmed several of its members were sent to the scene to assist with patient care and to transport victims to a local hospital.
Local reports indicate two rival gangs may have been involved in the shooting. The mall has been evacuated.
