Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has opened an investigation into Media Matters for alleged fraudulent activity.
Paxton said he’d initiated his probe after he heard of the suit against the “radical anti-free speech organization.”
For years Media Matters targeted conservative news organizations and waged painful and destructive advertising boycotts.
The company is run by Angelo Carusone, a raging leftist who has a history of posting antisemitic messages on social media. Libs of Tik Tok also uncovered posts where Carusone mocked transgender people – which is ironic seeing how Carusone is married to a man.
Media Matters actually assigned a staffer to specifically monitor my national radio show as well as my column when i was employed by Fox News Channel.
Their attacks were filled with lies and half-truths. They also waged war against Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly and most recently – Tucker Carlson.
The investigation follows news that X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, has launched a defamation suit against the group.
This, after Media Matters claimed X displayed ads next to far-right figures.
“We are examining the issue closely to ensure that the public has not been deceived by the schemes of radical left-wing organizations who would like nothing more than to limit freedom by reducing participation in the public square,” Paxton said.
Media Matters exists to destroy anyone who holds an opposing viewpoint to theirs. The company and its employees are beyond the definition of evil. I was one of their targets during my years at Fox. They were relentless. I pray Attorney General Paxton and Elon Musk rain down fire and brimstone on these evil monsters.
Here are some old blog posts from the President of Media Matters Angelo Caruson. He made fun of trans people, mocked “jewry” and “jewish gold,” and praised a member of the KKK.— Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) November 19, 2023
