DEVELOPING STORY: A gunman who opened fire on shoppers at the Allen Premium Outlets in Texas was shot dead by a brave police officer who happened to be at the mall on another matter. Police say there are fatalities, but the exact number is not clear. There are reports that children are among the dead. Local fire officials say they personally transported at least nine victims to area hospitals. Authorities believe the gunman acted alone. Eyewitnesses tell CBS News in Dallas that they heard dozens of shots and saw “bodies going down” as they were taking shelter in stores. And that they saw the killer’s dead body on the ground as they were being evacuated. Dashcam video shows the moment that the gunman jumped out of his car and opened fire.
