DEVELOPING STORY: A gunman opened fire on women at three different locations across Memphis Saturday killing four and wounding another. And there is a citywide manhunt underway for the killer.
Memphis Police have identified the suspect as Mavis Christian, Jr. He is believed to be driving a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu with a Tennessee tag, “390-BHTM.”
“Do not approach or engage this individual,” the police warned in a statement. “He is armed and extremely dangerous.”
Christian is also a known felon. There’s no word just yet on why this man was out of jail.

Many citizens were awakened just after midnight by an emergency alert message that was sent to cell phones across the Mid-South, KWAM News Radio Memphis reported.
Police say the shooting spree started at 3636 Field Lark Drive where three females were shot. Two did not survive their injuries. A 13-year-old lost her life. A 15-year-old girl survived and is in critical condition.
The second shooting happened at 5050 Warrington Road. The victim in that attack also died. The third shooting happened at 196 Howard Drive. The female victim did not survive her injuries.
Police believe that all of the attacks are acts of domestic violence. He is related to at least some of the victims.
If you spot the gunman, call 911 immediately, police said.
Local, state and federal agencies are involved in the manhunt.
