DEVELOPING STORY: A gunman wearing a bullet proof vest opened fire Monday night on a street in Philadelphia. At least eight people have been shot — including two children. As many as four people have died.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that police had apprehended a male wearing a ballistic vest and recovered a rifle and handgun in the alleyway behind the 1600 block of South Frazier Street.
The crime scene is reportedly across a number of blocks.
The suspect was armed with a handgun, rifle, extra magazines, and bulletproof vest and was shooting people for several minutes.
The shooter is in custody but police have yet to release a motive for the attack.
