A mass shooting at a sweet-16 birthday party has rocked a small Alabama town where reports of fatalities range from four to 12 and nearly two dozen people injured.
Police have been extremely tight-lipped about the Saturday night shooting. It took more than 12 hours for law enforcement to hold a press briefing — but they still refused to release additional information.
“There were four lives — not fatalities, lives — there were four lives tragically lost in this incident. And there’s been a multitude of injuries,” Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Jeremy Burkett said. Watch the video below and click here to follow my Rumble channel.
Sources tell the Todd Starnes Show that a gunman opened fire inside a packed dance studio in downtown Dadeville, Alabama – a town of about 3,000 residents.
Most if not all of the victims are believed to be teenagers. Photographs of the crime scene showed bloody carnage — at least six lifeless bodies on the floor. Watch the video below and click here to follow my Rumble channel.
“Most of these were high school students from several of our local schools. Many were from my community of Dadeville,” Ben Hayes, pastor of First Baptist Church Dadeville told me.
Hayes also serves as the chaplain for the police department and the high school football team. He said one of the victims was a football player.
“This morning, I grieve with the people of Dadeville and my fellow Alabamians. Violent crime has NO place in our state, and we are staying closely updated by law enforcement as details emerge,” Gov. Kay Ivey said.
Annette Allen told NPR that it was her granddaughter’s 16th birthday party where the attack occurred. Allen’s grandson, a high school athlete, was killed by the gunfire, while her daughter was wounded and sent to an area hospital.
“This is a small community and they just wanted to enjoy the birthday party,” Allen told NPR’s member station Troy Public Radio. “We had to be standing and waiting for bodies to brought out.”
