BULLETIN: House Speaker Kevin McCarthy struck a deal with Democrats and passed a 45-day funding bill that would keep the government. Conservatives are outraged.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) said McCarthy and GOP leadership broke their word to the voters.
McCarthy dropped demands for significant spending cuts and ultimately needed help from the Democrats to send the package to the Senate. The package was approved 335-91, with most Republicans and almost all Democrats supporting the bill.
“We’re going to do our job,” McCarthy said before the House vote. “We’re going to be adults in the room. And we’re going to keep government open.”
“The House is going to act so government will not shut down. We will put a clean funding stopgap on the floor to keep government open for 45 days for the House and Senate to get their work done,” McCarthy also said. “We will also, knowing what had transpired through the summer, the disasters in Florida, the horrendous fire in Hawaii, and also disasters in California and Vermont, we will put the supplemental portion that the president asked for in disaster there too.”
Only 21 House Republicans had the courage to stand with the American taxpayers and deliver on campaign promises they made to their constituents.

Every Republican who stood with the Democrats and voted to fund Ukraine at the expense of the American people deserve to lose their seats in Congress next Fall.
And the only saving grace is that Speaker McCarthy may not have his job for much longer.
