Memphis police would not confirm the exact number of people shot during the attack. The shooting happened just before 1 a.m.
One eyewitness tells The Mighty 990 that it was a “mass casualty situation” with “seven or eight shot.”
“Blood and chaos,” the eyewitness told the radio station. “A drive-by from the way it sounded.”
Methodist North had been placed on lockdown just after the shooting happened.
“It was pretty scary,” another eyewitness said. “The emergency room was in chaos. Bleeding victims were stumbling in and the police were not even there yet.”
“It was pretty scary. Just blood everywhere down the hallway, in the ER,” an eyewitness inside Methodist North tells @Mighty990KWAM #Memphis

KWAM reports the victims appeared to have been ambushed at a gas station right next to the hospital.
“Apparently they were hanging out there when the ambush took place. So close you could hear the gunshots in the hospital,” a source told the radio station.
A photojournalist for WREG posted a photo of an abandoned weapon next to gas pumps.
“Pictures from a WREG photographer show a car riddled with bullet holes with all four doors open in the middle of Covington Pike outside the hospital,” television station WREG reported.
LocalMemphis.com reports witnessing a “silver sedan stopped at the median near the intersection of Austin Peay and Walter K.Singleton Pkwy had more than 20 bullet holes on the driver side.”
Memphis is a city controlled by anti-police progressives. The police department is far below its full complement of officers leading to a massive spike in crime.
Memphis voters recently elected a radical, George Soros-style district attorney who campaigned on a platform of being soft one crime — especially towards juvenile offenders.
