FBI Director Christopher Wray expressed no remorse after he admitted his agency had tried to infiltrate Catholic churches in Richmond, Virginia. The FBI was reportedly looking for extremist Christians.
A few months ago, a leaked FBI memo labeled “radical traditional Catholics” as potential domestic terror threats. The memorandum was rescinded once it became public.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan scorched Wray during a hearing today — accusing him of stonewalling and not allowing Congress to interview the agents responsible.
“They’re trying to put informants in the parish, in the church. And you won’t let us talk to the people who did it,” Jordan said. “Americans have seen the FBI Richmond Field Office put together a memorandum saying pro-life Catholics are extremists,” Jordan told Wray.
