The intruder reportedly tried to tie him up “until Nancy got home” and told responding officers he was “waiting for Nancy,” the source told CNN.
Police identified the suspect as David Depape, a Berkeley resident.
Journalist Joe Eskenazi reports that Depape “would appear to be a former Castro nudist protester.”

Pelosi’s office put out a statement that the speaker was not at her San Francisco residence with her husband who was sentenced to five days in jail and was fined thousands of dollars for driving under the influence earlier this year.
“Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery,” the statement said.
U.S. Capitol Police and the FBI are assisting local authorities who have yet to release a motive for the attack.
This is a developing story.
