Disgraced actor Jussie Smollett was found guilty of faking a hate crime the other day.
He told police that two white guys wearing MAGA hats punched him in the face, poured some sort of chemical substance on his body and wrapped a noose around his neck.
Turned out it was all staged.
But he garnered massive support from the media and Democrats who believed his unbelievable story.
President Biden condemned homophobia and racism and Nancy Pelosi called it an affront to our humanity.
“What happened today to @jussiesmollett must never be tolerated in this country,” Biden said. “We must stand up and demand that we no longer give this hate safe harbor; that homophobia and racism have no place on our streets or in our hearts. We are with you, Jussie.”
Vice President Kamala Harris was one of the most outspoken defenders of the disgraced actor.
“This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate,” she wrote.
“There is no such thing as ‘racially charged.’ This attack was not ‘possibly’ homophobic. It was a racist and homophobic attack,” wrote Rep. Sandy Ocasio Cortez (D-NY). “If you don’t like what is happening to our country, then work to change it. It is no one’s job to water down or sugar-coat the rise of hate crimes.”
Foul-mouthed Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) tweeted, “When one of the most famous black and gay men in America is not safe, the message is clearer than it has ever been.” The dangerous lies spewing from the right wing is killing & hurting our people. Thinking of you @jussiesmollett, and my LGBTQ neighbors.”
The were so quick to believe the Mainstream Media’s narrative that Trump supporters are racist monsters.
The question now is whether Biden and Harris and Pelosi will retract their statements. Will they apologize to the American people for being bamboozled?
And will they demand that Mr. Smollett face federal charges for staging an anti-gay, anti-black hate crime against himself?
