The New York City Police Dept. mourns one of their own today.
Officer Jonathan Diller was shot in Queens. The 31-year-old was killed during a routine traffic stop.
The gunman turned out to be a career criminal – arrested 21 times. Many are demanding to know why he was out on the streets.
President Trump announced that he plans to attend the wake in memory of Officer Diller. He was invited by the NYPD. He is the only presidential candidate who has consistently stood alongside law enforcement.
“President Trump is moved by the invitation to join NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller’s family and colleagues as they deal with his senseless and tragic death,” Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told The Associated Press.
And Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, raised $1.5 million for Officer Diller’s family.
Meanwhile, Presidents Biden, Obama and Clinton will be in New York City today not to memorialize Officer Diller, but to attend a multi-million dollar fundraiser.
It’s time for Democrats to reject the anti-cop propaganda that has infected their party. And it’s time for voters to reject anti-cop politicians at the ballot box.
In the meantime, I hope you will take a minute and pray for Officer Diller’s widow and their one year old son.
