At least 24 people were injured and three people were killed in violence across downtown Milwaukee after last night’s NBA playoff game between the Bucks and the Boston Celtics.
“Everybody started running,” witness Brittany Bergstrom, who was at a nearby restaurant, told FOX 6 in Milwaukee. “There was a stampede, people running over the shrubs, hats shoes on the ground, drinks spilled everywhere.”
Milwaukee police say there were at least three separate shootings in the downtown area.
The gunshots sent hundreds of fans running through the Deer District, where 11,000 people had gathered to watch Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series between the Bucks and Boston Celtics. Watch video of the aftermath below.
At least 17 people were injured in the first mass shooting.
Police say as many as 10 people were arrested in connection with that incident and a number of firearms were recovered.
The victims range in age from 15 to 47-years-old. Police say all are expected to survive.
Police have yet to release a motive for the shootings.
