WATCH: Minnesota State Troopers Arrests CNN Crew During Live Broadcast

A CNN reporter and his crew were arrested during a live television broadcast in Minneapolis after they were told to move and they did not follow orders.

“A CNN reporter and his production team were arrested this morning in Minneapolis for doing their jobs, despite identifying themselves — a clear violation of their First Amendment rights. The authorities in Minnesota, including the Governor, must release the three CNN employees immediately,” CNN said in a statement.
Officers approached Omar Jimenez and is crew – which also included producer Bill Kirkos and photojournalist Leonel Mendez — as they moved in to arrest a protester behind them.

Many people on Twitter noted that the reporter is a person of color – insinuating that he was arrested because he is a minority. They failed to point out that white crew members were also arrested.

Rising Fox News star Lawrence Jones was absolutely infuriated that police would order a CNN crew to follow their orders.

“THIS IS BULLSHIT!!! This is an American reporter,” the Fox News reporter shrieked. “What happened to Omar is unacceptable. FULL STOP.”

If the police tell you to move – you move. Just because you have a press credential doesn’t mean you can ignore the rule of law.
