It was Thongs Gone Wild in Memphis over the Memorial Day weekend.
While most Americans were honoring those who sacrificed their lives so that we could live in freedom, a bunch of bikini-clad Memphians staged a wild pool party.
“Project Splash & Ass” billed itself as the city’s official Memorial Day pool party — with parking available at the nearby Church of Christ.
Video obtained by KWAM NewsTalk Memphis shows a wild crowd of party-goers surrounding a police cruiser. At one point an officer got out of the car to shoo away the mob.
A woman dressed in a thong bikini jumped on the hood of the taxpayer-funded patrol car and commenced to thrusting her private parts in front of God and the Memphis Police Department. It’s unclear if the twerking perp was arrested.
Elsewhere, at least a half dozen bikini-clad women mounted a civilian’s convertible and simulated relations — with great gusto.
Radio station KWAM NewsTalk Memphis reached out to the police department for a comment, but so far they have not returned our calls.
Hundreds of Memphians weighed in on social media condemning the video.
“No home training or class whatsoever,” one person wrote. “No respect for law enforcement or themselves.”
“This is tasteless, ghetto and not funny,” wrote another. “You don’t have to even say Memphis, because it’s so obvious.”
Wrote another, “No Pride and Respect for yourself or neighborhood.”
There’s another pool party scheduled for Monday night.
But based on what I’ve seen, party goers might want to avoid the swimming pool — or else throw a few more cups of chlorine in the water.
